Working with Healthcare Professionals to Elevate Patient Care

Bloom Psychedelic Therapy & Research Institute works with health care professionals to elevate patient care with proven psychedelic-assisted therapy. We are a registered not-for-profit clinic partnered with the University of Calgary.

Bringing science, therapy, and psychedelics together for better lives.

Since its inception, Bloom Psychedelic Therapy has taken pride in taking a medical, science, and evidence-based approach to the use of ketamine in treating mental health issues. Research into psychedelics in recent years has demonstrated that ketamine can be used to provide therapeutic relief to treatment-resistant individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and more. We’ve seen this success for ourselves. Having helped many patients using ketamine-assisted therapy (KAT), we believe more than ever in bringing science, psychedelics, and psychology together to help people flourish.

Our experienced team is made up of individuals with extensive medical backgrounds, including licensed physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, medics, registered nurses, researchers, plus an incredible support staff.

We are officially partnered with the University of Calgary and host the Parker Psychedelic Research Chair. Together we are working to advance world-class research into psychedelics and its many benefits when used in a safe, monitored, and professional medical setting.

We invite you to join us in learning more about psychedelics, KAT, and how it can help your patients.

Learning More About Ketamine

According to recent studies, ketamine, psilocybin—the active ingredient in magic mushrooms and MDMA (ecstasy), —has been found to be effective in treating a range of psychiatric disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use disorder, and more.

In June 2022, the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and the Matheson Centre for Mental Health Research & Education at the University of Calgary announced Dr. Leah Mayo, PhD, in the position of Parker Psychedelic Research Chair. As a partner with the University of Calgary’s research into psychedelics, Bloom is proud to play a part in advocating for sound science and evidence-based practices that will help ensure novel therapies can be translated into practical clinical treatment.

Our clients are typically individuals who have tried psychotherapy and pharmaceuticals to treat psychological disorders with little success. These individuals may have a diagnosis (or multiple diagnoses) for conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and more, or may not have a diagnosis at all, but still struggle with the associated symptoms. Patients who are willing to lean into the unknown in order to affect change in their lives may be well-suited for Bloom’s evidence-based and compassionate ketamine assisted psychotherapeutic services.

Our clients go through a thorough assessment process to ensure that there are no concerns in participating in KAT treatment and to make sure that it is a suitable and safe option. Teaming up with physicians, we want to work together to find a way to bring about positive change in an individual’s life.
